Over the course of the past few years, I have discovered that most of the time, whether I am doing art or something else, I don't really know what I am doing. I usually just make things up as I go along, altering and adjusting to the situation as needed. For example, I have been working on a series of anatomical hearts in varying designs, but on all of them, say my moon one, I had planned to make the overall part of the heart a darker shade of pink, but it ended up lighter than I thought I would because it looked better.
I have learned that you don't always need to know what you're doing. Sometimes it's okay to just guess as you go along, adjusting as you go, changing as needed. You don't always have to have a plan, or make final decisions before you do something. I have found that more often than not, whatever colors or designs I have planned don't end up working, and so mid piece, I'll change my course. And that's okay.
