My Mission Statement

Ever since I was a kid, I have loved art. I loved (and still do!) to paint and draw, and as I got older, the more I experienced with different mediums. When I went into junior high, I assumed that every single piece of art needed to have a specific piece, and every piece needed to have a goal. It wasn't until high school that I learned that art can be created without a specific purpose, other than for yourself. Art can be sketches, experimenting with color, intense painting, realistic drawings- you name it. Art is what you make it, what you want it to be, whether that be for yourself, others, or just "Art for Art's Sake."

My mission is to understand what art means to me, why is it important, what does it entail. I value and work towards to enjoyment of creating and experiencing new things, regardless of success or failure. Especially because a work of art is not something that is just on paper or a sculpture, you are a work of art, you are important, you are valuable, along with everything you create.

My goal is to help others understand, and learn myself, the importance of art. I want to help others understand why a piece of art is important, why being creative and expressive is worth it and exciting, and if they want to, how to get started themselves. More than anything, I want to do what I love, and help others do things, or start new things that they love as well- especially if you are just starting out.

I hope that you will enjoy me on this journey of experience, learning, and joy, and that you will enjoy it as well.
